Mission:
The mission of the McDill PTO is to enhance and support educational and social experiences at McDill Elementary School by raising funds, organizing a strong volunteer network, providing family-focused activities and facilitating communication among students, teachers, family members and the surrounding community.
Long-Term Objectives:
- Fundraise to support the PTO's Mission
- Grow the McDill Elementary community and strengthen its relationships.
- Support academic, art, cultural, health and environmental initiatives.
- Operate as a well-functioning and effective PTO
McDill Elementary is more than a school; it is a family where parents, staff, and volunteers work together to create unique learning opportunities for every one of our students. Parents and volunteers are instrumental for the academic and behavioral success our students achieve. Our role as a PTO is to support the great work the teachers are doing in and out of the classroom and provide various opportunities for families to connect with each other. The PTO provides a lot of logistical and financial support to McDill every year. Some of the programs and activities we help fund include:
- Reading Program subscription for classroom
- Student clubs (Book Club, Chess Club, Running Club, Orchestra, etc.)
- Technology improvements for classrooms
- Costs of certain field trips for all students
- PE/Music/Art equipment and supplies
- Family fun nights
- Classroom snacks and food closets
- So much more
